Every Old School RuneScape player knows the feeling-you want to play, you want to make progress, but you don't want to sweat through Slayer tasks, bosses, or high-intensity clicks. Some days you just want to relax, put on a show, vibe out, and still make decent GP OSRS gold.
That's where low-attention, semi-AFK monsters shine. These are the spots you can camp for steady GP without needing perfect clicks or full focus. Over the years, I've cycled through dozens of options, but five monsters consistently remain my go-tos whenever I want reliable money with minimal effort.
In this guide, I'm ranking the top five low-attention monsters I still camp in 2025, from #5 (my least-picked) all the way to #1 (my absolute favorite and borderline addiction).
Let's dive in.
5. Brutal Black Dragons-Catacombs of Kourend
Brutal black dragons kick off the list at #5-not because they aren't good, but because they're the least AFK of the five. You do need to pay mild attention due to their drops and trip length. They drop two black dragonhide at a time, their bones are valuable, and if you're looting both, your inventory fills fast. Expect around 6-8 kills per trip depending on RNG.
Still, they remain an iconic, low-effort money maker with terrific GP/hour for minimal focus.
Best Weapons & Setup
If we're talking max efficiency:
Twisted Bow (BiS)
Kills per hour: 80-90
GP per hour: 1.9M-2.2M
Assumes Rigor and high-end gear
But not everyone has a Tbow-and that's fine. A Dragon Hunter Crossbow is still extremely strong here:
Dragon Hunter Crossbow
Kills per hour: 65-75
GP per hour: 1.6M-1.8M
You can also use:
Dragon crossbow
Toxic blowpipe (but expect supply costs)
Brutal Blacks are consistent, relaxing, and profitable-but the short trip length holds them back from being super AFK.
4. Skeletal Wyverns-Asgarnian Ice Dungeon
Skeletal Wyverns have been an AFK staple for over a decade, and they're still an amazing choice for players who want steady GP without constant clicking. While they aren't quite as profitable as Brutal Blacks, they require noticeably less attention and offer multiple combat style options.
Each of these spots has its own niche:
Want the best AFK per hour? Go Kurasks.
Want classic money + semi-AFK? Gargoyles.
Want fast XP and profit? Nechs cheapest OSRS gold
Want true AFK range training? Wyverns.
Want high GP with big drops? Brutal Blacks.
Whether you're working, watching shows, or simply wanting to play OSRS without full focus, these monsters offer some of the best balance between effort and earnings in the game.
